Athena Chu is elated that her comeback drama is the new ViuTV drama, “The Parents League 2”.

The actress, who appeared at a promotional event in Yau Tong recently, shared that it was awkward returning to the TV scene after 13 years, but that she was moved by the script this time.

“Suddenly, it had been 13 years. I am so happy to be filming a drama in Hong Kong and hear my native Cantonese. Although it was a little hard in the early stages of filming, the rhythm was eventually adjusted,” she said.

Athena admitted that it was a challenge working with many children at first, and that her voice went hoarse after the first few days of filming. However, the actress said she had learned to just let the director deal with it instead.

Asked how her relationship with her daughter in real life is, the actress said that she is both the teacher and the friend to her young daughter.

“I can’t be too strict and can only teach by example. Our daughter is now 11 and she has begun to enter the rebellious period and needs her own space,” she said.

In “The Parents League 2”, Athena plays a primary school teacher and sister to a single mother (played by Chloe So). Athena’s last drama was 2010’s “A Wall-less World: The Third Choice”.
