The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently revealed its plan to extend its promotional efforts following the release of Blackpink Lisa’s new music video, “Rockstar”.

As reported on Pattaya Mail, the music video, which has garnered more than 60 million views since its release on 28 June, had the singer singing and dancing in front of the backdrop of Bangkok’s famous Chinatown, Yaowarat, and has now garnered interest of global fans for the location.

In response to the increased attention, TAT stated that it will extend its efforts beyond Yaorawat to include nearby neighbourhoods such as Sampheng market, Talat Noi, Song Wat road, and Wang Burapha.

These areas will be promoted on various social media platforms, they said, along with key annual events such as the Chinese New Year and the Vegetarian Festival.

Said TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the music video has the potential to enhance “the country’s image and attract a broader audience”, and that TAT plans to introduce new tourism activities in order to draw more visitors in and at the same time boost local businesses.
