After finding success in making fun of chefs and cooks alike attempting to cook Southeast Asian dishes, Nigel Ng aka Uncle Roger recently announced that he is opening his own restaurant soon.
He shared this piece of message via a YouTube video of him titled “Uncle Roger miss Anthony Bourdain”, where he reviews a clip of the late chef Anthony Bourdain eating and praising Malaysian food and stating that Bourdain was his favourite celebrity chef.
Halfway through reacting to the video, Ng stated, “If you like food you have to travel to Uncle Roger country [Malaysia], because so many ingredient[s] we don’t export, you can’t get it out of any other country.”
“By the way, another reason you should go to Malaysia is that Uncle Roger actually [is] going to open my very first restaurant, coming soon later this year,” he added.
He then joked that it’s a secret and that his viewers shouldn’t tell others about it.
Ng has already come out with his own product, the creamy Uncle Roger Chili Crab Pasta, which includes two bundles of bucatini and spicy sauce with crab at US$29.99 (approx. RM141.4).
