KARA’s new song marks the first song recorded as a group of six, as it was revealed that the late Goo Hara’s vocals was also featured in the recording.
As reported on Korean Vibe, on 16 July, RBW and DSP Media revealed that the song, “Hello”, which is a part of their digital single, “I Do I Do”, is “completed as a six-member version with the addition of Goo Hara’s voice, which she recorded in Korean before her passing.”
The song’s Korean title is “Annyeong”, which means both hello and goodbye in Korean, symbolising meetings and farewells.
It was originally to be included in KARA’s fourth album, “Full Bloom” released in 2013, but was never released. A Japanese version of the song was included in Hara’s Japanese single, “Midnight Queen” in 2019.
The group, whose current lineup is Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji, will release their digital single “I Do I Do” on 24 July.
Goo Hara passed away in November 2019 with the cause of death ruled as a possible suicide, a year after her domestic dispute with boyfriend Choi Jong-bum. The latter who was later convicted of threatening to upload the sex video, coercion, physical assault, and destroying Hara’s property.
