Jenny Tseng is not one to mince words as she criticised Na Ying for winning the Hunan TV music competition, “Singer 2024”.
Expressing her feelings on the result on Facebook, the Macau-born singer stated that she had predicted three months ago that Na Ying would have been “unofficially” selected to win the said programme, following announcement that the veteran singer was going to compete.
“Pay foreigners to be tricked and toyed with, Na Ying, listen to how you sing yourself. How do you have the nerve to win?” she wrote, adding that the old cliché “has not changed.”
Jenny also stated her belief that singing programmes are not the same as singing competitions and questioned the show’s scoring and grading famous singers.
“What qualifications do you have to judge? What criteria do you use? Who are you?” she asked, and added, “The champion lady is just sitting back and enjoying her long life, thinking she is famous again.”
