Chapman To recently revealed that he finally had the chance to fulfil his dream of playing a villain in the new Taiwanese drama, “Zero Day”.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who plays a Hong Konger sent by the Chinese Communist Party to infiltrate Taiwan in the new drama, joked, “It is easy to play this role because I have seen many of these type of people in Hong Kong.”
“I used to do lots of comedies, but this time, I got to fulfil my dream of being the villain. My character also has lots of scenes in the drama,” he added.
As for the biggest challenge in playing the role, Chapman said that it was hard to speak in Mandarin.
“Mandarin is my third language. It is even more difficult when I have to act in Mandarin as the drama requires me to have a fluency in it. I might have offended the producer in my previous life,” he said light-heartedly.
Speaking about his new life away from Hong Kong, Chapman said that he has gained about 10kg since settling down in Taiwan – a decision he made in 2020 after the CCP implemented the Hong Kong National Security Law.
It is noted that this is Chapman’s first TV drama since he came to Taiwan.
