Nick Cheung recently expressed gratitude over being recognised by the 7th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest), which will be running from 21 to 28 July.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who was asked about being honoured with the Award for Excellent Achievement in Film by the festival, said that he is grateful and would definitely appear at the event to accept the award if time permits it.

Nick also stated that he has a deep connection with Malaysia, as his first directorial debut, “Hungry Ghost Ritual” was filmed in the country and alongside Malaysian filmmakers.

“I was filming a movie about ghosts in Malaysia, which is full of mystery and rich culture. It made the movie more appealing,” he said.

Meanwhile, his new movie, “Peg O’ My Heart”, which he directed and starred in, will also be the closing film alongside Ho Miu Ki’s “Love Lies”.
