Luke Thompson is not trying to be coy when asked whether he will be the lead actor in season four of “Bridgerton”.
He genuinely doesn’t know it.
The actor, who plays Benedict Bridgerton in the series, couldn’t help but laughed when asked if his character’s book, “An Offer from a Gentleman” will finally be adapted next.
“I don’t know,” he said, in an interview with The View. “I know that it’s so lovely [and] that one of the best things about a TV job is you get to really explore a character long-form like that and fill him in slowly. So as long as I keep getting to do that.”
Thompson said, however, that he would not oppose to being the next Bridgerton to find love, adding, “Obviously, it would be great to dive in at one point. But, we’ll have to wait and see!”
“An Offer from a Gentleman” is the third instalment of the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn, and revolves around Benedict’s own romance story. However, the third season of the Netflix show decided to skip the third book and adapt “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton” instead, which revolves around the friendship-turned-romance story between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.
In related news, the second part of season 3 of the show will return on 13 June.
