Lin Chi-ling couldn’t help but feel excitement and joy after finally experiencing what it was like to throw the ceremonial first pitch at a recent baseball game in Japan.
On 23 June, the actress posted several photos from the Es Con Field Hokkaido Stadium, where she was previously announced as the guest pitcher who’d be kicking off the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters game.
She expressed, “The stadium has a divine power of joy, and it’s an honour to kick off the pitcher mound of Japan’s first open natural turf field that opened the roof for the first time this year! What an amazing experience.”
“Thank you, Hokkaido Nipponham Fighters, for this opportunity! Es con Field and F village is the best. Another challenge completed,” she added.
Lin revealed prior to the pitch that she was both nervous and excited, adding that she had been practicing diligently how to throw a ball.
Though she ended up throwing a ground ball, Lin expressed, “It was my first time standing on the pitcher’s mound. It was different from practicing on flat ground. I couldn’t stand very steadily, so I threw a ground ball. I felt very sorry.”
