Jia Ling’s camp is now threatening legal action against several businesses using the image of the actress to sell their slimming products.
As reported on Epoch Times, on 3 April, Big Bowl Entertainment, the company owned by Jia Ling, issued a statement saying that they have discovered several unscrupulous merchants who have been using the actress’ portrait without permission and falsely claiming that she has endorsed or cooperated with them or their products.
The company also stated that they have engaged a lawyer to defend its rights in accordance to the law.
Jia Ling made headlines earlier this year after it was revealed that she had lost 50kg in preparation for her hit Lunar New Year movie, “YOLO”. The success of her weight loss had since become the talk of town, with interests for weight loss among the public skyrocketing.
At the same time, more businesses began selling weight loss pills and equipment, openly displaying Jia Ling’s image supposedly using the product to create the idea of them being a part of her weight loss success.
