Carlos Chan recently expressed elation over being honoured with an award by the 18th Asian Pop-Up Cinema (APUC) in Chicago.

The actor, who was announced the APUC Bright Star awardee, said that he was touched over the recognition, and that he was surprised to realise that he is not only known in Hong Kong but outside as well.

“I am very grateful to the Asian Pop-Up Cinema committee for giving me this award. But what I am most grateful for is the opportunity to have an exchange with the audience, whether it’s the Chinese community or anybody that loves Hong Kong films from this great city,” he said.

As for his dream role in the future, Carlos said that he hopes to do something more serious after playing a lot of light-hearted and younger roles.

“I really want to do something more in a serious vein, towards deeper human emotions and how we all think about our world,” he added.

Carlos was also in Chicago to promote his new movie, “We Are Family”.
