Sayumi Michishige will be restricting her entertainment activities following a diagnosis of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
The news was shared by her agency on 27 December, according to Nikkan Sports, saying that the singer noticed that she has been overly picky and sensitive in certain areas of work, and reported of strong feelings of anxiety and fear.
“She was then examined at a hospital where a doctor diagnosed her with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder,” the agency added.
As a result, Sayumi has decided to restrict some of her activities until she sees improvement in her symptoms.
“Regarding future concert activities, she will continue to monitor the progress of her symptoms while consulting with her doctor. We plan to continue as usual while keeping this in mind. We apologise for any concern and inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your understanding,” the agency stated.
