South East Asia’s most iconic and Singapore’s most respected performing artiste Kumar is ushering a brand new appearance this season with KUMARSUTRA: GREATEST HITS – a series of `sold out’ multi-state tours in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.
These shows, to be held at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang on 14 October, Mega Star Arena Kuala Lumpur on 25 & 26 October, and Permaisuri Zarith Sofiah Opera House in Johor Bahru on the 28 & 29 October, is presented by LOL Asia, with some additional dates to be revealed soon.
KUMARSUTRA: GREATEST HITS is a curated compilation of stories through experiences, draws inspiration and anecdotes of Kumar’s best comedy material refined over thousands of performances. Robustly putting together content with the intention to amaze audiences transcending across age, gender, race and ethnicity, fans in Malaysia will witness new content representing Kumar’s revitalised personality that is in line with the country’s values and soul.
KUMARSUTRA: GREATEST HITS is also joining hands with one of Malaysia’s well-known NGO, namely YELLOW HOUSE, dedicated to improve the lives of the homeless, the urban poor, and refugee communities.
Endeavouring through a collective vision to uplift and empower marginalised communities in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur with facilities for shelter and rehabilitation via a network of local community volunteers, KUMARSUTRA: GREATEST HITS aims to contribute towards fund raising for this NGO in the effort to support its rejuvenation project towards building sustainable living spaces for the city’s homeless.
States Kumar, “I love performing for Malaysians as they laugh the biggest, the hardest, the loudest. This tour, I hope and believe they will also give from the heart with their full participation towards the shows, so we can laugh together and entertain for a noble cause.”
For fans of the star comedian, this is also the last chance to catch Kumar doing some old classic jokes before they are retired permanently, post tour.
