Wu Kangren has recently won Best Performance at the 17th FIRST International Film Festival in China.
The actor, who won for his role in the Angelica Lee-produced, “Abang Adik”, shared the good news on social media, writing, “Thanks to Abang Adik, I have left a name at the FIRST International Film Festival. Thank you, team.”
“Hopefully it will be helpful to the follow-up release, let the Malaysian team’s effort be seen,” he added.
Prior to his victory, the movie has already gone to several festivals, including the 22nd New York Asian Film Festival, and won three accolades at the 25th Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy, including the White Mulberry award.
The film stars Wu alongside Malaysian actor Jack Tan as undocumented orphans whose lives were upended following a brutal accident.
