Girls’ Generation member Sunny recently confirmed that she has now left SM Entertainment.

Announcing the news on 8 August, the singer posted a long message on Instagram that read, “Today, I want to express my gratitude and greetings to SM Entertainment for helping 19-year-old Lee Sung-Gyu to debut as Girls’ Generation’s Sunny. Thank you to the managers who worked hard together during the 16 years of our entertainment activities, and to all the employees who helped us to give positive energy to many people through various stages and content with good music and good looks.”

Sunny stated that she is grateful every day for making her debut as Girls’ Generation and meeting their fans, SONE.

“I am now trying to take courage to see myself in a different perspective in my new environment. Thanks to the interest and affection of the fans and for the unwavering support throughout this time. I will continue to move forward,” she added.

Sunny also stated that she will be sharing good news soon.
