Following news of Coco Lee’s passing, mainland stars recently took to social media to express their sadness over the loss.
As reported on Sohu, stars like Li Bingbing, Yao Chen, and Kitty Zhang were among the many who went on Weibo to share their condolences.
Li Bingbing posted a short message in the wee morning of 6 July, writing, “I am so sad. I respected [the late Coco Lee] and I hope that there will be no more pain up there in heaven.”
Yao Chen, who shared a photo of the singer, expressed, “Thank you for being here. Goodbye, Coco.”
Meanwhile, Kitty expressed, “I don’t want to believe it. It hurts too much. You were such a sparkling, vibrant, and energetic human being. I will always miss you and love you, Coco.”
Chinese singer He Jie, on the other hand, shared the collection of Coco’s album that she had, stating that she had been a fan of the singer since she was a child.
“When I saw you the first time, you warmly gave me a big hug and told me that I sang very well. You even knew my birthday. Why is such a kind and lovely energetic person… I can’t describe the feeling at this moment, I really don’t want to believe it.
Coco passed away on 5 July, as revealed by her family, a few days after she was rushed to the hospital having attempted to end her life back on 2 July. Sister Nancy revealed that the singer had been battling depression in recent years, and had tried to seek help from professionals prior to her passing.
She was 48.
