Award-winning South Korean director Park Chan-Wook will be collaborating with Netflix in his next project.
The “Decision to Leave” director is set to co-write and produce a new period thriller, “War and Revolt”, which will be directed by Kim Sang-Man of “Midnight FM” fame.
It is noted that Kim has also worked with Park in his various projects including “I’m a Cyborg, But That’s Ok” and “JSA: Joint Security Area”.
The thriller will be set during the Joseon dynasty and stars Kang Dong-Won and Park Jeong-Min as two childhood friends who become adversaries.
Other stars include Cha Seung-Won, who will play the role of King Seonjo, who abandons his people at the onset of the Japanese invasion.
It is noted that Park is also the director of the HBO miniseries, “The Sympathiser”, starring Robert Downey Jr.
