Yisa Yu recently expressed happiness over being nominated for Best Female Vocalist at the Golden Melody Awards.

The mainland singer, who was nominated in the past but was disqualified later on, expressed her happiness over the good news on Weibo, writing, “Look ahead. Don’t look back. Keep going!”

Yisa was nominated back in 2011 in the Best New Artist category, but sparked controversy as she already had cover albums released in mainland prior to 2010. She was eventually disqualified, and accepted the decision with grace.

This time, the singer is nominated Best Female Vocalist for her 2022 album, “Dear Life”.

Other singers nominated in the category are Lala Hsu, Hung Pei-Yu, A-Lin, Pennie Tai and Lexie Liu.

The 34th Golden Melody Awards will be held on 1 July.
