It wasn’t just her friends and fans that were accidentally duped by Vincy Chan’s recent social media announcement, as she revealed that her boss Albert Yeung also thought she was getting married.

It was last week that Vincy took to Instagram to apologise and clarify herself, after a photo of a wedding ring and the caption of “I said Yes” that she posted on social media had everybody from Charlene Choi, Linda Chung to Carlos Chan congratulating her for supposedly getting engaged to boyfriend Ziv. She then explained that it was just a scene from her new music video.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who spoke to the media a few days after she caused the misunderstanding on social media, stated that even the EEG owner thought she was announcing an upcoming wedding.

“The boss was the first to congratulate me in the group, and everybody followed suit. I am thankful for the blessings and I am very sorry for the misunderstanding,” she said.

Vincy stated that she didn’t think that people would misunderstand the photo when she posted it on Instagram, that is until her comment section was filled with congratulatory wishes.

“It was not a gimmick. I was just planning to promote my song. But now I saw how everybody reacted, I believe the boss supports me getting married,” she said light-heartedly.
