Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel recently revealed that she is set to visit the Philippines in May this year.

The Texan beauty shared the news in a recent episode of “Houston Life”, saying, “Actually, I will be visiting the Philippines soon, in May. We’re going to have a huge event there, as Miss Universe, so I’m really excited.”

“So, for all the Filipinos tuning in, I cannot wait to meet you,” she added.

R’Bonney added that she grew up going to the Philippines as a child and holidaying in the country, and that it felt amazing to be an inspiration to the people in the Philippines.

Though born in Houston, Texas, R’Bonney is half Filipino from her father Remigio Bonzon Gabriel’s side, who hailed from Manila and immigrated to the US when he was 25.

The fashion designer became the first Filipino-American to win Miss Universe, after being crowned Miss USA last year.
