Michelle Dee still has so much to prove, which is why she decided to compete in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant for the second time.
The beauty queen, who won 1st runner-up last year to Celeste Cortesi, told Boy Abunda on his show, “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that she is not done yet.
“I am a go-getter. I have dreams, I have aspirations. Even though I’ve already accomplished a lot in entrepreneurship, show business, and pageantry, I still think it’s not enough,” she said.
Michelle, who is also the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, added that the Miss Universe Philippines organisation was also very supportive of her decision when she consulted them about wanting to join again for this year’s pageant.
“I feel like I have so much to share and so much to prove and so much inspiration to share to people who look up to me. The crown is really more than just a title. It’s really a platform for change, for positive change,” she added.
Prior to winning 1st runner-up last year, Michelle represented the country at the Miss World 2019, where she finished in the Top 12.
A beauty queen competing repeatedly in the same pageant is not unusual, as Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was also known to have joined the Binibining Pilipinas three times before finally winning it as well as the Miss Universe crown in 2015.
