Although the border between Hong Kong and mainland China has been opened since 8 January, it doesn’t mean that Kevin Cheng will just resume his career in the north.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke about his work plan this year, stated that he has received a lot of work offers in mainland China, but that family will always come first at present moment.
“I don’t want to alienate my relationship with my kids. Whatever you gain, you will lose others. When I was filming TVB’s ‘Kids’ Lives Matter’ previously, the kids are always asleep when I come home. I can see them but had no time to spend with them,” he said.
Kevin said that he would rather not take a project and have more time with his family unless the script or the role is worth it.
“I adopt an open-door policy. It doesn’t matter what TV station it is, the most important thing is the script and the character,” he added.
On the other hand, when asked about good friend Kenneth Ma, who is now engaged to actress Roxanne Tong, Kevin said that he hopes that the actor will have a baby as soon as possible.
“Our energy decreases a year after year, while the children’s energy increases every day,” he said.
