Lee Jung-Jae has been named Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the Emmy Awards.

The actor bested Hollywood stars that include Bob Odenkirk, Brian Cox and Jason Bateman to become the first Asian actor to win the award for his performance in the non-English series, “Squid Game”.

In the said Netflix series, Lee played the role of Seong Gi-Hun, who competed in a life and death competition after failing to pay off his debts.

This is the latest accolade that the actor has won for his said role following numerous honours including Critics’ Choice Television Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

In related news, Lee recently landed the male lead in “The Acolyte”, Disney+’s upcoming Star Wars series.
