Joel Chan has nothing but well-wishes for ex-girlfriend Florinda Ho, following rumours that she is now engaged to be married.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who appeared at the launch of Shaw Brothers’ new film on 13 September, stated that he hadn’t heard about the engagement except from the media, having been busy sorting things related to his son’s schooling.
Giving Florinda his blessings, Joel said, “Everybody in the world should be happy when they find their happiness.”
Asked if he is unhappy that stories about their previous failed romance came up again due to Florinda’s new relationship, Joel said that he doesn’t mind it anymore.
“I am very happy now. I have everything I want. The wife doesn’t mind either. Everybody has their past and history, and it makes your life and future the better,” he added.
Florinda, who is the daughter of the late Macau casino king Stanley Ho, is rumoured to have been engaged to her new beau, who is a firefighter.
Joel and Florinda’s relationship was high profile for all the wrong reasons when they met in early 2010s, with the actor rumoured to have left his wife Ponny Yeung for Florinda and cut ties with many of his friends throughout the relationship.
The romance, however, fizzled after two years, with the actor having to restart his TVB career as a supporting actor.
