Charo Santos-Concio has recently been named Best Actress at the 70th FAMAS Awards (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences).

The actress, who bested contenders that include Sharon Cuneta (“Revirginized”) and Maja Salvador (“Arisaka”), won for her performance in the critically-acclaimed movie, “Whether the Weather is Fine” (“Kun Maupay Man It Panahon”).

The actress took to social media to express her delight for the recognition, writing, “[Thank you so much] FAMAS. Thank you Direk [Carlo Francisco Manatad], [Joji Villanueva Alonso], and entire production team.”

“I share this honour with my co-stars [Daniel Padilla], [Rans Rifol] and the people of Tacloban,” she added.

On the other hand, it was the musical film “Katips”, which became the big winner, taking home seven accolades including Best Picture and Best Actor for Vince Tanada.
