“Squid Game” continues to make history by becoming the first non-English show to be nominated in a huge number of categories at the 2022 Emmy Awards.

On 12 July, the Emmys released its list of nominations, which reveals that the said Netflix show has been nominated in 14 categories, including Outstanding Drama Series, competing with shows like “Better Call Saul”, “Euphoria”, “Yellowjackets”, “Severance”, “Ozark”, and “Stranger Things”.

Lead actor Lee Jung-Jae is also nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series category, while four of its other stars – Park Hae-Soo, Oh Yeong-Su, Jung Ho-Yeon, and Lee You-Mi are nominated in Supporting Actors, Supporting Actress, and Guest Actress categories respectively.

Other nominations include Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, Outstanding Stunt Performance, and Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series.

However, “Squid Game” is not the series with the most nominations. That goes to HBO’s “Succession” with 25 nominations, followed by Apple TV+’s comedy, “Ted Lasso” with 20.
