Japanese star Mei Nagano is set to star in the upcoming Netflix live-action remake of “Burn the House Down”.
The actress, most known for her role in “Rurouni Kenshin” and “Peach Girl”, will play the lead as Anzu Murata, a young woman who infiltrates the house of the wealthy Mitarai family as a housekeeper as a revenge to claim the life taken from her.
The Japanese thriller will be produced by Shinichi Takahashi and Kei Haruna, and directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa of “Whisper of the Heart” fame.
On the other hand, Kyoka Suzuki will play the role of Makiko Mitarai.
The adaptation is based on the original manga of the same name created by Moyashi Fujisawa and was released from 2017 to 2021.
The series is scheduled for 2023 premiere.
