Proving himself to be a big fan of the king, Elvis Presley, Sam Hui recently revealed that his whole family reserved a whole theatre to watch the new Baz Luhrmann biopic, “Elvis”.
As reported on HK01, the veteran singer-songwriter, who shared photos from the family’s recent movie outing, shared that the King of Rock and Roll played a huge role in his and his family’s lives.
Sam expressed, “Elvis had a great influence on my family. My father and uncle learned his songs when they were teenagers, and when I started playing the guitar, I learned the same songs as well.”
“We are very familiar about Elvis’ history, but has never looked at it from the perspective of his manager,” he added, referring to the movie telling the story from the perspective of Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker.
The biopic, which was released on 23 June, stars Austin Butler in the titular role, while Tom Hanks played the said manager.
“I think both of them did a good job,” Sam added. “Although I have seen a lot of Elvis’ impersonators before, this time, it’s very good. For fans of Elvis and music, this is a must-see.”
