Japanese singer GACKT has recently made his first public appearance since taking a hiatus to focus on his health.
On 17 June, the singer appeared at the launch of a fund event at the Osaka International Convention Centre to help support treatment costs for people with disabilities as well as research funding for regenerative medicine.
Speaking to the media at the event, GACKT stated that he has been on treatment for a long time and is now recovering, though not completely.
He also admitted that he suffered from skin diseases and alopecia at one point, and thought that he would not be able to return to showbiz.
“The hair fell off between my fingers and my skin was tattered,” he said.
GACKT admitted that it was regenerative medicine that helped him, and the reason he appeared at the event is to show his support for the cause.
As for his future projects, GACKT only said, “I think it will not be long before we can get back on stage. I am planning to deliver it on my birthday next month.”
It was late last year that GACKT suspended all activities due to a neurological disease.
