Diego Loyzaga recently expressed his elation for the opportunity to work with father Cesar Montano in the new Viva Films’ project, “Maid in Malacañang”.
The actor plays the role of Bongbong Marcos in the upcoming movie, which focuses on the final three days of the Marcos family in Malacañang Palace before fleeing to Hawaii during the 1986 People Power Revolution.
Meanwhile, Cesar has been cast to play the late President Ferdinand Marcos.
“This has been a long time coming. I’ve been dying for this moment. Everything happens for a reason. This is the first time we are working together,” said Diego.
Another reason for him to be excited was the fact that he is not just playing a character, but portraying a real person.
“It’s a very big deal. It’s pressure. I feel the pressure, but it’s exciting,” he added.
It is noted that the father and son duo, who were estranged for seven years, reunited early this year.
The upcoming movie, which will be released on 20 July, co-stars Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Marcos, Cristine Reyes as Imee Marcos, as well as Ella Cruz as Irene Marcos.
