BTS surprised fans by announcing that they are taking an indefinite break.
As a group, that is.
In a video posted on 14 June, member Suga shared that they are going on a hiatus, before RM added that they were exhausted and didn’t know what BTS is anymore ever since they released “Butter” and “Permission to Dance”.
“I’ve always thought that BTS was different than other groups. But the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature,” he said.
On the other hand, Jimin said that the group is starting to think about what kind of artists they each want to be remembered by the fans.
“We should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again,” said J-Hope. “I hope you don’t see this is a negative thing and see that it’s a healthy plan.”
On the other hand, the group’s agency Hybe stated that the group members will be focusing more on their solo projects during this time.
