Charo Santos recently revealed that she will be hosting a new talk show that will focus on the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Speaking to the media in a digital conference recently, the former ABS-CBN president stated that the new project, titled, “Shine on Overseas Pinoy” is a project close to her heart as she has always loved engaging with Filipinos around the world.

“Here in ‘Shine On Overseas Pinoy’, I was given the opportunity to talk to our compatriots who work in other parts of the world and also to have a chance to explore all the financial possibilities with experts in financial management,” said Charo.

Charo said that unlike in “Maalaala Mo Kaya”, there is a lot more real-time engagement, since it involves her interacting with them.

Although the show is a collaboration with financial service company, Sun Life Philippines, the actress said that she hopes that the show will help everybody, especially OFWs, with their financial management.

“Most of our compatriots are really looking for a decent job, taking home a salary and dreaming of a better life for themselves and their loved ones. But they don’t have the tools,” she said. “So important is the role that Sun Life plays that they really share their knowledge with our countrymen so that they can learn, first and foremost, to live within their means, to save and how to manage what you have accumulated.”

The 13-episode show will premiere on 14 May on TFC cable and satellite, IPTV and iWantTFC.
