Although she once declared that she is done with trying to lose weight, Joyce Cheng recently revealed that she has lost 20 pounds in just three months.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the singer, who is the daughter of late actress-comedienne Lydia Shum, sat down for an interview with “The Popcorn Show” recently and shared that she was able to lose weight through keto diet.
“A lot of people asked me if I don’t mind being fat or thin. If I am not in this line, I wouldn’t mind it much, but I really love wearing nice clothes,” she said.
Joyce stated that she doesn’t think that she will be particularly beautiful being slender, but that buying clothes had not been easy when she had her previous figure.
“I don’t want to spend all day shopping for clothes online. This is not to say there is a problem. I myself like to mix and match high-priced brand with cheap ones. But when you perform, you have to have respect for the stage and the audience,” she said.
Joyce, who at her heaviest had weighed 230 pounds, had once successfully lost a lot of weight, but admitted later that she is done with doing so for public acceptance. She also revealed that her strict diet and exercise routine made her dizzy from low blood sugar.
“Happiness isn’t based on body weight! I refuse to live for others. Learning to be comfortable in my own skin,” she expressed.
