Britney Spears has recently confirmed that she is currently writing her memoir.
The pop star shared the good news on social media on 4 April, writing, “Well I’m writing a book at the moment and it’s actually healing and therapeutic… it’s also hard bringing up past events in my life.”
“I’ve never been able to express openly!!! I can only imagine that I do sound childish but I was extremely young when those events took place,” she added.
Britney made no mention about the release date or whether it has been picked up by a publisher, though Page Six reported earlier this year that she inked a US$14 million book deal with Simon & Schuster.
The news of her upcoming book came three months after sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ memoir, “Things I Should Have Said”.
The pop icon’s 14-year conservatorship ended in November last year. Since then, she has been enjoying her freedom, and saying yes to actor Sam Asghari’s marriage proposal.
