With the filming of several series halted left and right due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong, it was reported that TVB is planning to introduce a new method to enable these projects to continue.
As reported on HK01, sources stated that the company is going to implement an “enclosed” method of working, whereby its artistes and staff members would remain inside TVB studios for three weeks to finish filming their dramas.
Speaking to the media about the plan, TVB Executive Bonnie Wong stated that they are now implementing the system to two shows – its entertainment show “Scoop” as well as its long-running sitcom, “Come Home Love: Lo and Behold”, with studios equipped with sleeping areas and other facilities and necessities; including three meals a day.
Although this is something new for TVB, it is noted that there have been other productions in other countries that have implemented this way of working, including the Philippines, in which actors are required to leave home for the period of filming for what is called a “locked in taping”.
