Michelle Yeoh was supposed to attend the premiere of her new movie, “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, but had to cancel all appearances due to COVID-19.

On 24 March, the actress took to social media to share her condition with fans with a photo of her taking a rest in bed, looking very apparently unwell.

“Life on Life’s terms… bittersweet …” she wrote. “Premiere in LA tonight [and] unfortunately, I verse jumped into the Covid universe! I’m sure you all know just how much I want to be there with you all tonight.”

“I trust my EEAAO family will fly our flag high and gloriously!! I am so so very proud of what we have done together!! So, everyone at premiere tonight, be ready for a ride of your life! Buckle up!! Love you all [and] know that I’m there in spirit, with every laughter every tear, every step of the way,” she added.

Fans and friends alike wish the Malaysian actress good health, including Karen Gillan and Daniel Wu, the former who wrote, “I was there! And you were SO INCREDIBLE in this film. I am in awe of you.”

Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the upcoming movie stars Michelle as a Chinese immigrant in the US, who finds herself swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led.

The film co-stars Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr. and Jamie Lee Curtis among others.
