Japanese singer AKIRA has indirectly dismissed rumours that she and wife Lin Chi-Ling welcomed their first child via surrogacy.

As reported on Mingpao, the EXILE member recently spoke to the Taiwanese media in a virtual interview, stating that he felt very happy to finally be a father.

“We are no exception when it comes to facing difficulties that couples do, but Chi-Ling never thought of giving up. She has always held on to hope, so we finally got what we wanted,” he said about their baby’s birth.

AKIRA also thanked his 47-year-old wife, saying that the actress sacrificed a lot since they tied the knot, focusing on being a good wife and now, as a mother.

Asked about Lin’s physical condition, the singer said that his wife loves to drink chicken soup and hopes that her body will get better soon.

“We often drink chicken soup when we’re in Taiwan and I would make it for her to have at home on weekdays,” he said, indirectly dismissing once and for all the notion that they had the baby via surrogacy.

Rumours of Lin’s pregnancy sparked in November last year, when she posted on Instagram, “Thanks for all the good things that came just right.”

Netizens also noticed that the actress kept sharing photos of herself from the chest up, seemingly hiding a baby bump.
