Zanjoe Marudo recently revealed that his upcoming new series, “The Broken Marriage Vow” came at the right time in his career.
Speaking to the media to promote the series recently, Zanjoe admitted that he was a bit down for a period of time circa 2019 to 2020, when not much work came his way, followed by the ABS-CBN shutdown and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I didn’t know what the next move is and what else can be done. And then I got a call saying they were going to do a show. It felt like I was revived,” he said.
Zanjoe said that he accepted his role in the drama right away, especially since it’s been a long time coming.
“I have been waiting for a huge project like this and be the lead in a primetime drama. Now that I have been given the opportunity, I grabbed it right away,” he said.
In the series, which is a remake of the British series, “Doctor Foster” (and the more popular Korean remake, “The World of the Married”), Zanjoe plays the role of David Ilustre, the perfect husband of Jill (Jodi Sta. Maria) who later turns on her.
The upcoming series also stars Zaijian Jaranilla, Sue Ramirez, Jane Oineza, and Angeli Bayani, among others. It will premiere on television on 24 January.
