It was revealed that the upcoming Prabhu Deva and Regina Cassandra movie, “Flash Back” will be a coming-of-age film.
The news was revealed by director Don Sandy, who said that this will be the first film in a long time to talk about the subject of lust rather than just love.
“Generally, such films in our industry have only talked about love, but this one addresses the attraction youngsters begin to develop towards the opposite sex. After Balu Mahendra’s “Azhiyatha Kolangal” (1979), I guess this is going to be the first film to talk about the aspect of lust,” said Don.
Although the subject matter is on the infatuation towards an older woman, the filmmaker stressed that it will be presented in a dignified manner.
Speaking about Prabhu Deva’s character, Don stated that the actor-turned-director will play the role of a writer.
“This role is something he hasn’t done yet. Even Prabhu Deva sir was surprised that I wanted him for such a role. He is someone who has donned the hats of an actor, choreographer and director, so I felt that he would be apt for such a role,” says the director.
On the other hand, Regina will be playing the role of an Anglo-Indian teacher in the movie.
The upcoming movie will be released sometime next year.
