Mackenyu Arata is set to star in another adaptation of a Japanese property.
On 10 November, Netflix took to social media to announce the cast of its upcoming live-action remake of the hit Japanese anime, “One Piece”, revealing that the LA-born actor will be playing the role of Zoro.
“I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing ZORO in the upcoming live action Netflix series ONE PIECE,” the actor posted on his Instagram.
Zoro is known to be a fan favourite character in the hit franchise, and is also the first crewmate to join the protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy.
Mackenyu also shared a photo of the pilot episode of the upcoming series, which is written by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda.
The live-action show will also star Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
Prior to “One Piece”, Mackenyu was cast in the film adaptation of “Knights of the Zodiac”.
