Karena Lam is elated to find out that her new movie, “American Girl” has received seven nominations at the Golden Horse Awards, including Best Actress for herself.
As reported on Mingpao, the Taiwanese actress, who stars in the new feature from Fiona Roan, expressed, “Thank you so much to the “American Girl” team, since this good news happened because of how great they are. I am so happy to be shortlisted. Thankful and grateful.”
She also congratulated young actress Caitlin Fang Yuting, who played her daughter Fen in the movie, for her nomination in both the Best Actress and Best New Performer categories.
Karena will be competing with actresses Chen Shiang-chyi, Gingle Wang, and Alyssa Chia. Both Gingle and Alyssa are nominated for their roles in “The Falls”.
It was previously reported that the movie, which is inspired by director Fiona Roan’s experience, has been selected to hold its global premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival under the Asian Future section.
Aside from Best Actress, the movie will also be competing in the Best Feature Film, Best New Director, and Best New Actor among others.
