Jake Cuenca has recently been arrested by the police after reportedly hitting a police car.
According to Push, in the incident that occurred on the evening of 9 October, the actor’s black Jeep Wrangler was alleged to have bumped a cop car in Mandaluyong while the police were in the middle of a buy-bust operation.
However, instead of stopping, Jake was said to have driven away, prompting a car chase that led to a shooting on the police part, which ended up hitting 43 year-old delivery rider, Eleazar Maritinito, who is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
“The incident was very unfortunate,” said Eastern Police District (EPD) director Police Brigadier General Matthew Bacay. “Maybe our personnel still have high adrenaline because our operation is ongoing… and then this is a very unfortunate incident. Nobody likes it.”
The actor has been brought to the Mandaluyong Police Station and is now facing a possible charge of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Damage to Property. The police, however, found nothing illegal in Jake’s car.
On the other hand, Jake’s father stated that the actor panicked after hitting the police car and had no intention to create such a scene in the first place.
