The highly-anticipated “Game of Thrones” prequel, “House of the Dragon” has finally released a new trailer.
The trailer, which was released on 4 October, features the voice of Matt Smith in his role, expressing how Targaryen rule is successful not by dreams but by dragons, while it offers the First Look on some of its characters, from Smith’s Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy’s Princess Rhaenyra, as well as a few snippets of a combat and a duel.
At the same time, fans of the original series, “A Song of Ice and Fire” will be treated to a more similar (though still less complicated) throne room that was imagined by George RR Martin in his series of books in comparison to “Game of Thrones”.
The upcoming series, which takes place 200 years prior to the events of “Game of Thrones”, will focus on the Targaryen dynasty, which still sits on the Iron Throne, and will depict the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragon that is also the beginning of the end of their long reign over Westeros.
In addition, several new cast members have been announced, including Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon who is the younger brother to Coryls Velaryon and commander in the Velaryon navy, as well as John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon, Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velaryon, and Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon – the three children of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen.
“House of the Dragon” is coming to HBO Max in 2022.
