Kapuso actress Ysabel Ortega is now the proud holder of a bachelor’s degree in political economy.
On 16 August, the “Pepito Manaloto” actress, who studied at the University of Asia and the Pacific, posted a photo of herself in her graduation robe, and wrote, “For the past four years, I have poured my heart, my tears and my time into completing my bachelors degree and I can’t believe that I made it to the finish line.”
“For the past four years, I worked so hard to balance my career and my studies. I remember keeping myself awake and sane in class using cans of energy drinks and coffee, along with matching nervous breakdowns whenever I had to leave exams early just to make it to work on time, vice versa. People told me to just choose. Some told me to drop out and focus on my work, while others told me to quit showbiz and focus on my studies instead.”
Ysabel stated that there were times that she doubted herself, thinking that she would not be able to continue on, but that she decided not to give up on her dream and keep on working towards finishing her studies.
“Now, here I am with proof that if you put your heart into whatever you wish to achieve, you can make it happen,” she added.
The actress also thanked her parents for their support, as well as the friends she made during her studies and her professors for believing in her.
“I may not be getting my graduation march, but I’m still as grateful and as proud of what I have accomplished. This is all for You. I may be closing this chapter of my life but boy am I excited for what’s next,” she expressed.
