Nicholas Tse recently took to social media to commemorate the first anniversary of director Benny Chan’s passing.
As reported on HK01, on 23 August, which marked a full year since the filmmaker passed away, the actor took to Weibo to express his thoughts about the loss, writing, “A year has passed. Everyone has seen the movie you led us to complete.”
“Several times in the theatre, I watched the familiar back at the end of the film and I was deeply emotional. Director Benny, I missed you. We will pass on this spark…. the precious memories of light and shadow you brought had also made every audience feel the fire and warmth. Thank you, director Benny Chan.”
It is noted that Nicholas has worked with Benny multiple times throughout his career, including movies like, “Gen-X Cops”, and “New Police Story”.
On the other hand, the official Facebook page of Nicholas’ last movie, “Raging Fire” also posted a tribute to the director on the same day.
Benny passed away on 23 August 2020 of nasopharyngeal cancer. His new aforementioned movie was released posthumously last month.
