After postponing the coronation night from late July to early August, the Miss World Philippines Organisation recently announced that the anticipated event has been delayed indefinitely.
The organisation announced the news on 2 August via its social media accounts, stating, “In compliance with the government and IATF’s new mandate for stricter ECQ restrictions in the NCR from August 6 to 20 due to the alarming upsurge in COVID-19 cases caused by the Delta variant, the Miss World Philippines Organisation has decided to postpone its coronation night indefinitely until further notice.”
This makes it the third time that the organisation has postponed the event. The coronation night was first scheduled to be held on 11 July, but was delayed to the 25th. It was later delayed to 8 August after Metro Manila was placed under tighter restrictions due to the increase of COVID cases.
The event was to be hosted by Xian Lim, RJ Ledesma, Winwyn Marquez, Alyssa Muhlach, and Cynthia Thomalla.
It is noted that the organisation has already skipped its 2020 edition due to the pandemic, and appointed Dindi Pajares as Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 in order to be ready for the Miss Supranational pageant, which will be held on 21 August in Poland.
