Following Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong’s statement that he is ordering investigation against Arjo Atayde and a group of film crew for violating COVID-19 protocols, it was revealed that the actor has been tested positive with the coronavirus.
The news was announced via his production company, Feelmaking Productions, stating that the actor was tested positive for COVID-19 while shooting for his new film in Baguio on 16 August.
The statement also responded to Mayor Magalong’s previous probe order, by explaining that, “Arjo was suffering from high fever, headaches, and difficulty in breathing”.
“It was the mutual decision of Feelmaking Productions Inc., Arjo’s parents and doctors to rush the actor, who has a pre-existing medical condition, straight to a hospital in Manila on August 17.”
As for the nine others who tested positive but are asymptomatic, the studio stated that they are now currently in quarantine.
“We have likewise coordinated with the local officials for the necessary safety protocols. The Atayde family has reached out to Mayor Benjamin Magalong and we assure him and the people of Baguio that we will comply with our commitments to the City.”
In his previous statement, Mayor Magalong stated that Arjo and his group of crew failed to comply with the SOP by leaving the city during the duration of their filming.
“For some reason, Mr. Atayde left his group yesterday (Monday) without informing us, although I’m trying to reach out to him to instruct him on what to do with his group left in the city,” he added.
