The movie has yet to be released in theatres, and yet the Gordon Lam-starrer, “Limbo” has already made it big in the film festival circuit.

Regarding the success of the said movie, Cheang stated that the recognition proves that the movie has won the international audiences.

On the other hand, lead actor Gordon Lam stated that he hopes to be able to return to Hong Kong soon to meet with the audience and congratulate the director himself.

Based on the novel, “Wisdom Tooth” by Lei Mi, the black and white movie tells the story of new police officer Yam Hoi (Mason Lee), who is partnered with Chin (Gordon Lam), a cop that has just recently been reinstated on the force following a series of killings. However, the duo is unable to solve the cases and instead causes a series of incidents due to his Chin’s tragic loss and Hoi’s rookie mistakes.

The film had its worldwide premiere at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival back in March.
