Kapuso actress Winwyn Marquez is adamant that she will not be involved in beauty pageants anymore, after more calls from supporters for her to compete for next year’s crown of Miss Universe Philippines.

On 9 June, the actress shared several never-before-seen photos of her while in competition for Reina Hispanoamericana (Hispanic American Queen) in 2017, and expressed overwhelming happiness over the messages she received from fans who wanted to see her on the pageant stage again.

The actress is not interested to return to the pageant stage

“I joined back in 2015 and 2017, but until now, in 2021, you are still here,” she wrote, “Thank you so much, but I can only support our candidates and those who dream of joining pageants from now on.”

Winwyn said that a person needs to start a new chapter in their life, though that “once a Miss Philippines, always a Miss Philippines”.

Winwyn, who first joined Binibining Pilipinas in 2015, became the first Asian and Filipina to be crowned Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017 in the country’s first attempt in competing at the said pageant in Bolivia.
