Vickie Rushton recently announced that she will be ending her pageant journey before it could even come to fruition.

The beauty queen, who previously announced that she would compete in the upcoming Binibining Pilipinas, shared the sad news on social media, writing, “As much as I don’t want to, I need to close this chapter in my life. I thought I was okay but today I realized that I might not be as okay as i thought I was. It finally sunk in that I am no longer part of it.”

“Today, I found myself crying because I am still not ready to let go of this dream but I know I have to and I know God has better plans,” she added.

Time to dream a new dream

Vickie added that while she never thought that her dream would end in such a way, she believes that it is now time to “dream a new dream”.

The actress, who turned 29 last month, was originally planning to represent Philippines at Miss International this year, but was unable to do so after Stephanie Diaz, the director, affirmed the age requirement of 18 to 28 years old for their pageant.

It is noted that the Binibining Pilipinas was originally scheduled to be held in May, but postponed its coronation night to July. Meanwhile, Miss International has cancelled its 2020 edition altogether.
